Easy Egg Biriyani recipe
Ingredients:
- Boiled eggs(4-5)(without egg shells)
- Basmati rice -2 cups(around 300 gms)
- Sliced Onion (2 medium size)
- Sliced Tomato (2 medium size )
- green chilly (1)
- Ginger garlic paste (1½ tea spoons)
- Coriander leaves (1 handful)
- Mint leaves (half of coriander taken )
- Normal chilly powder(1 tea spoons)
- kashmiri chilly powder(1 tea spoons)
- coriander powder(1½ tea spoons)
- turmeric powder(½ tea spoons)
- garam masala(¼ tea spoons)
- pepper powder
- cloves - 2
- cardamom - 2
- cinnamon - an inch
- star anice - 1
- biriyani leaf - 2
- Salt as per your taste
- oil - 2 tea spoons
- ghee - 1 tea spoons
- water - 3 cups
Procedure:
- Soak Basmati rice in water for about 20 minutes .
- turn on medium flame and add oil and ghee , once heated , add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon ,star anice and biriyani leaf , then stir for 10 secs in pressure cooker.
- Add onion, green chilly & stir until turns light brown .
- Add ginger garlic paste,stir until raw smell goes off.
- Add Normal chilly powder, kashmiri chilly powder , coriander powder ,turmeric powder and pepper powder , then stir for 10 secs in low flame .
- Add tomato and stir until mashed
- Add mint and coriander leaves
- Now add boiled eggs and cover the lid (do not close the lid ) and cook for 20 secs in low flame .
- Add 3 cups of water ,salt to taste ,garam masala,crushed kasoori methi till water boils
- Drain the basmati rice and pressure cook till 2 whistles.
- Egg Biriyani ready to be served
Suggestions :
- spice level can be adjusted accordingly .
- increase or decrease the amount of ingrediants according to number of people.
- Add lemon incase ,if tomatoes are not sour.
- Add 1½ cup of water for for 1 cup of Basmati rice
